Microgrid Services for Local Energy Communities
ABB is the forerunner of the feasibility study ‘Microgrid Services for Local Energy Communities’. It ran for seven months in the Microgrid innovator zone. On the basis of a concrete project in Mechelen, smart microgrid solutions were examined with suitable functionalities as a starting point, to ascertain which created most value in the chain. The new regulations, roles and responsibilities in the EU Winter Package served as a guide for guaranteeing maximum commercial European scalability.
