Call BEL-SME: cooperate for innovation with SME’s from Brussels and Wallonia
It is targeted at interregional technological development projects between SMEs from the three Belgian regions.
How does it work?
The funding will be granted at regional level: VLAIO for Flemish SMEs. This means individual application forms will have to be introduced by each partner. Also a very short umbrella form will have to be provided to explain the collaboration and the joint project.
Consortium
- The project consortium should consist of at least two SMEs from two different Belgian regions.
- Participation of research and technology organisations (RTOs) is possible but not mandatory, they can only participate as subcontractors
- Balanced participation of the partners within the project
- Clear participation of all participating SMEs in the economic results of the project, every participant has a defined role in the project (subproject) that contains research and/or development tasks with significant technical risks and is necessary for the project success,
- The duration of a project is between 12 and 24 months.
Which projects are eligible?
- Projects must be innovative and aim at developing new or to significantly improve existing products, processes or technical services exceeding the existing state of the art.
- Projects must have significant technical risks.
- The outcome of the project must be concrete and demonstrate real market potential.
Funding rules for Flanders
- The basis subsidy rate is 25% for development.
- An extra 10% is added because of the trans regional collaboration within BELSME.
- An extra 20% will be added when the company is small and 10% in the case of a medium sized.
- The maximum subsidy rate is limited to 50%.
- Funding of the Flemish partners cannot exceed 250.000 euro per project proposal.
Deadline for submission is 29 March. The communication on funding decisions follows on 29 June 2019.
Submission
The common form that provides a general overview of the project must be sent to smaas@innoviris.be at the latest on 29 March 2019 at noon.
In Flanders, an application for a development project for the Flemish part is submitted to VLAIO at the latest on 29 March 2019, 12:00 noon.
