European Project in the Picture

SIMPLA supports cities & local authorities in integrating energy & mobility planning.

The SIMPLA project supported more than 80 municipalities in six countries (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Romania and Spain) to develop integrated energy and mobility plans. It resulted in 28 integrated plans, composed of an energy plan, a mobility plan  and a harmonisation report. 

Thanks to the 28 pilots guidelines were developed. They are online available and come with 18 'turn-key energy-saving packages': concrete examples of potential actions/strategies to be included in energy and mobility plans. 

12 additional countries committed in the project to replicate this process in Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Greece, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine.

The SIMPLA guidelines are an excellent resource for cities willing to work in a harmonised way on energy and mobility planning and start/continue thinking on the number & location of  EV- charging points for example.
