Several new Flux50 projects approved and ready to start!

At the end of 2019, seven projects received news that their proposals had been approved by the Hermes Decision Committee, supported by VLAIO and several experts. In the coming months and years, these Flux50 members will study or realize crucial innovations for the future.

  1. June Energy, Calculas and Bao Living – together with VITO and WTCB – will try to support the building industry with their feasibility study “Building Service Platform”. This data and servicing platform will enhance energy efficiency and portfolio management in the residential and retail industries.
  2. Th!nk-E, Arend, JuNovation, Signify and Ecosours, supported by VITO, will execute the feasibility study “CiS²AR”, focused on studying the circularity, sustainability, intelligence and reversibility of energy technology in buildings.
  3. Leopold is a feasibility study focused on technical and financial opportunities to enable old and protected landmark buildings to use less energy. These poorly insulated buildings will benefit from the study conducted by Gadgeon, Itho Daalderop, Zero Friction, Crescent, Ingenium and Lync Lexington.
  4. In the Smart Pool feasibility study, ThermoVault, Th!nk-E, Wolfram Design and Rik Ellentrik will focus on studying the maintenance, energy efficiency and flexibility potential of swimming pools.
  5. The Smart Business Area of The Future testing ground will allow Engie Electrabel, Quares, Intervest and Continental to join forces to create and leverage an energy community in the industrial area of Mechelen Noord.
  6. Managing tertiary buildings by controlling installations and efficient energy usage will be made possible at the Enleash Testing ground, operated by byNubian, Proximus and Belix, with the full support of Elia and Fluvius.
  7. Centrica and ThermoVault, backed by N-Side and Fluvius in the Soteria development project, will achieve extra energy market flexibility without overstraining the low-voltage network.

We’re really looking forward to the concrete realization of these projects. We filed another 10 project proposals last January, up for review later this month. If you have an innovative idea you want to work out within a consortium, don’t hesitate to contact us.
