OASIS - Offshore Accelerator for System Integration and Storage

There is a growing need for energy storage and grid stability, partly due to the construction of additional offshore wind farms in the Princess Elisabeth Zone. The OASIS project supports new, innovative business activities that address these needs.

Dutch Marine Energy Centre (coordinator); BOVA ENVIRO, De Blauwe Cluster and Flux50 (Belgium); BUILDERS Ecole d’Ingénieurs and Fondation OPEN-C (France);  Uppsala University – Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Chemistry (Sweden); Deutsche Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V.  (Germany); AAKP AS (Norway); and Energy Cluster Denmark (Denmark).

Offshore renewable energy production fluctuates significantly due to weather patterns. New innovations are therefore required to manage this energy production. However, the sector faces a high barrier to entry for SMEs. The Offshore Accelerator for System Integration & Storage (OASIS) provides both the content and the structure to enable SMEs to seize this opportunity and implement their ideas.

A key objective of OASIS is to help SMEs develop in parallel across three crucial areas that influence the performance and market readiness of the end product: technology development, commercial development and sustainable design. OASIS will provide SMEs with insight into their gaps in these areas, help them implement key developments, provide quantified information on the potential of various markets, and connect them with market stakeholders.

OASIS will bring together experts from these fields with in-depth insights into the challenges facing the offshore renewable energy sector. By supporting 30 SMEs with a focus on the development of system integration and storage solutions, OASIS will accelerate their entry into the offshore market.
