SUN-based Smart battery and Hydrogen Integrated Novel Energy concept

In the framework of the Energy Harbors innovator zone, Lampiris, Terranova Solar, Waterstofnet, North Sea Port and UGent have committed themselves to the seven-month feasibility study ‘Sunshine’. The technical and economic feasibility of hybrid storage using batteries and hydrogen was analysed for sustainable electricity harvested by the Terranova Solar site (Zonneberg). Added value can be created through support from the electricity network, supply from a predictable injection profile and the sale of hydrogen for zero-emission purposes.
